Del Mural’Art

Next week the group exhibition ‘Del Mural’Art‘, curated by Kognitif, opens in the metro system of Barcelona.

The transfer passage between the L3 and the L5 metro lines (at the Diagonal stop) will host 14 artists from the Spanish scene including: Miss Van, Boris Hoppek, Sixeart, Inocuo, Btoy, Max Gartner, San, Jorge Rodriguez Gerada, El Tono, Kenor, Lucas Mila, Suso33, Aryz, and myself. On display will be works from the studio as well as photos and videos of the work done in the streets, presumably not too much train painting though.

The show opens on March 28th at 19:00h and will be on display through June 1st, 2012.

Our Big Hope

Friday January 23rd, 2009 was a very depressing day. At least that’s what the news told me. I then thought about the word HOPE that everyone is using right now and where did it come from? Hasn’t it been the same media transmitting these two contrasting messages, and even at the same time? Who do we believe? What do we want to believe? Some of the headlines read:

- U.N. shocked by Gaza destruction. I forgot the dots in the painting and it made the headline a bit more confusing and amusing.

- Spain’s jobless rate hits 13.9%

- Norway school shooting kills two

- U.K. in recession As economy slides

- Mexico to rethink the death penalty (they can’t all be depressing)

Galeria Oberta pt. 2

The “gallery”

I felt this was the only message I would feel comfortable putting in a space like this.

It was also Andrea from Btoy‘s Birthday! Happy birthday Andrea!

The superstar of the day had to be the little girl from the neighborhood who just got up at the DJ booth, and start singing, freestyling, rocking out to the beats, and seriously moving the crowd for hours. This girl’s got rhythm!
