‘10 Days’ is a study of news headlines taken from the BBC News Online between May 6-15th, 2009.
The painting is acrylic paint on two wooden panels, in total measuring 234×170cm.
The painting was created during a residency at the MuseumsQuartier in Vienna, Austria. Since the process behind the painting is really what the piece is about this time lapse video fills in what seeing the painting alone simply can’t.
I’m happy to be able to finally present the video and have the painting installed outdoors at the MuseumQuartier this Friday, Nov. 20th.
To accompany this we’ll be finding some visible places to project the video around the city leading up to the opening. Keep your eyes open.
A few quick updates throughout the website (Small, Medium, Large, and 4Sale sections).
And more importantly two new prints of work I did in South America in 2007/8 were just released by Art Friendly, a new initiative out of Belgium that literally plants a tree for every print that is sold (no joke!). My pieces are included in the No New Enemies collection along with works by Will Barras and Ephameron.
Originally painted on a rooftop in Asuncion, Paraguay ‘Come Over‘ is available as a 40×40cm digital print mounted on aluminum for €99 in an unlimited series.
This doorway was originally painted in Lima, Peru in February 2008. ‘Calligraffy‘ is a digital print mounted on aluminum available either in an unlimited series of 40×40cm for €99 or 50×50cm for €255 in a series limited to 195 pieces, each with a signed certificate.
I’m not going to be updating here as much as I’d like to, just too busy setting up the exhibition. But check out the No New Enemies website for updates about the progress of the show, one week left! And much thanks to everyone who’s written and shown support. Hope to see you there.
I’m not good at giving presents, I’ve never been. Sorry to let you down.
But here’s one I can offer you. A free copy or 10 if you want of the No New Enemies fanzine that just came out. I’ve got something in there as do 20 other artists and it seems that Harlan may have had a run in with Uncle Mark under the Mistletoe.
